July 28, 2008
Wait! But I work from home and need the computer to run the show. The title of the post may strike many as being dumb or odd, since we all know that 99% of the jobs that are done from home and done so via the internet. Well, that’s my observation over the years. So where am I going with this post?
Check this article I came across earlier today - How To Manage Your Time Better While Working In A Home Office I personally do things a bit different in my approach to my daily life as a netpreneur, but it’s a great resource for managing your time. After-all, noting beats the advice you get from people who are actually in the real-life situations.

You Can Work from Home and Make Money Online
Denise Clarke
The newest battle cry that we hear around the nation is I want to work from home. I can´t afford to gas up my car, the commute is making me crazy and my kids need more attention at home.
Have you heard this before? Have you thought about this yourself? Should you wait until you are 65 before you stay at home and know the joys that can be had by staying in your nurturing atmosphere?
There certainly is not one answer that fits everyone, but I know that so many of my internet marketing friends have the relaxed and yet exciting lifestyle that can only come from the satisfaction of working from home.
Yes, I want to stay home, but I need to earn money … DUH … of course, you do. What is the best answer that I can come up with? Internet marketing might be the answer for you. Internet marketing encompasses all sorts of things, but the basic premise is that you work from your computer and you have an internet connection to the World Wide Web. Sounds awesome, huh?
In order to make money online you need to have a product or service that you provide or sell. This could be a real brick and mortar kind of product, like a coffee maker or it could be something like an e-book or newsletter that simply needs to be downloaded or uploaded to your customer´s site.
There are thousands of affiliate sites that are available for you to participate in, also. You act as a middle man or advertiser for these products and get paid for your effort. Affiliate programs can pay a great deal for some of their products, especially their e-products. I have seen some affiliate programs that offer the seller up to 75%. That is quite a good percentage, but of course you are dealing with a limited client base.
The latest “tweak” on the internet marketing circuit is the online auction and online shopping services that you can provide to customers and registration is usually for FREE. Right now there are some terrific online shopping and online auction platforms that give your customer the ability to shop worldwide for the best prices available. They offer price comparisons, in addition. Your function in all of this is to provide the portal or platform for the customer to use, which is basically a user friendly website that the company provides to you. You simply need to purchase a business license. Easy!
How much money can you really make online? Well, the sky is the limit and how much effort you really put into your business is really the clincher, but many internet marketers make six figure incomes. Focus, motivation and dedication are the keys to working from home. Remember, no one is looking over your shoulder and no one is there to cheer you on when things don´t go the way you plan. You need to be one of those self starting individuals that can pull themselves up by their bootstraps and get on with it.
Do you fit the profile? The rewards are many if decide to grab that brass ring. The decision is yours.

As gas prices soar, telecommuting options makes news.
July 18, 2008
I’ve got my google news reader set to pick up stories as it relates to working form home and telecommuting on a part time basis. Here’s the latest story I came across…
Hoping For A Cheaper Way To Work By STEVE GRANT.
Rocked by high gas prices, Connecticut workers are pleading with their employers for help in reducing commuting costs.
A new survey found that 50 percent of a sample of Connecticut businesses reported that as gas prices shot up in recent months, employees approached them for ways to help offset higher commuting costs, including telecommuting, carpooling or switching to a four-day work week.
Jean Taylor Stimolo, program manager for Telecommute Connecticut, a government-funded program that helps employers interested in telecommuting, said the 50 percent figure was high and unexpected.
“Most people don’t go to employers when gas prices go up,” she said.
The survey was conducted by the Connecticut Business & Industry Association in conjunction with Stimolo’s organization. Executives at about 2,000 Connecticut companies were given the survey, which produced about 350 responses, mostly from companies with 15 or more employees.
At the moment, about 25 percent of Connecticut employers offer telecommuting to at least some of their employees for all or part of the week.
The new survey found that about 26 percent of employers that don’t offer telecommuting are considering it for the first time because of high gas prices.
“That is extremely significant. It is a big uptick,” said Jason Giuletti, a research economist at the CBIA. Stimolo called the figure “pretty dramatic.”
If gas prices were to reach $5 a gallon, an even higher number of businesses — nearly 37 percent — would either begin or expand a telecommuting program.
Stimolo said Telecommute Connecticut has been bombarded with requests for assistance in setting up programs. Calls for assistance are up about 25 percent, and some 90 percent of those calls were touched off by high gas prices, she said.
Giuletti said that in recent years employers tended to see telecommuting as a recruiting tool that offered employees a way to balance work and home life.
“As of late, it is more a driver for employees to deal with the high cost of fuel,” he said. “Businesses are trying to help employees in some capacity with fuel costs.”

5 ways to motivate yourself into achieving anything you desire.
July 15, 2008
Much as self-motivation is crucially important to achieve personal goals and objectives, it is often hard for people to keep it up all the time. Inevitable Daily life pressure and unpleasant experiences usually have a negative effect and make people disoriented and less motivated, at least for a short while. For this reason, you need to know how to pull yourself together as quickly as possible, and refocus on your targets again. Resilience varies from one person to another, self-esteem and other characteristics are key factors to get back on track in no time, and above all, the mentality toward success. A successful person has to find a way to put his frustration aside and move on, but more importantly, to motivate him into achieving anything he desires, either personally or professionally.
Outcome motivation:
Always concentrate on the outcome of your prospective target, and how it will bear fruit in the future. This will most probably help you to exert more effort to make it happen. Each experience, no matter how horrible it sounds, will pay dividends one way or another, even if it turned ugly at the end. Furthermore, try to keep in mind the enjoyable part of your goals, and do not think much about the possible drawbacks that might de- motivate you. Even if it’s a job interview that you want to skip, some of its aspects might be rather fruitful and worth spending time on.
Challenging spirit:
Some people, by their nature, enjoy taking on challenges. This kind of attitude gives extra motivation to keep trying till the very end, and also make the chances of success substantially higher. Quitters, on the other hands, give up easily after a couple of minor setbacks because they can accept recurring failure and carry on with no trouble whatsoever. Successful Individuals have to perceive each target and dream as a challenge, which has to be bravely faced with enough determination. It’s also important to know how to deal with failure, and yet, never prepare for it in advance as it shouldn’t be an option.
Be well-informed:
Try to gather all the information that may help you to pull it off, whether your goal is a job you want to take up, or a girl that you deeply admire and want to make her acquaintance. You have to be well-informed with all the relevant information before taking your first step in order to be more confident and willing to achieve it. Conversely, lack of information might cause disappointments, as your expectations could be a bit too high.
Be optimistic:
Optimism is an essential advantage to attain success. Always be hopeful and do not let bad experiences dissuade you from having more. If you were pessimistic about your chances, you would probably fail. So you have to find a way to maintain the winning spirit. A wise man would never get frustrated from unpleasant experiences; on the contrary, it would make him stronger and more resolute.
Appreciate your objectives:
You have to be fully aware of the value of your objective, and do not underestimate it under any circumstance. If so, you would never take it seriously. Appreciate your objectives and give yourself some credit. Also friends’ pep talk can be relatively motivational.
